2019 Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition

Jim Carson, had one of  his painting, “The Bowery” 24×30, accepted to the 2019 Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition for Traditional Oils, held this year at Illume Gallery of Fine Arts in Saint George, Utah, May 10-June 7. The opening reception will be on  May 10, followed by the awards presentation. This year’s Juror of Awards is OPA Master Signature artist Kenn  Backhaus.

The Gold Medal Award this year is $25000.The OPA has more than 4000 artists throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.  Founded in 1991, the goal of the OPA National Show is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings, emphasizing the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition.

Jim’s painting is a street scene located on the lower West Side of  NYC, near the Bowery Hotel.
